  R75/5s were produced between 1970-1973. Check the neck of the frame for a plate that has the date of manufacture on it. Or tell me the first 5 numbers of the VIN number on the side of the engine block, I can compare it to mine, a 1970 R75/5. Yeah, a pic's in the very beginning of my Tribe album.

    You can also check online or in Clymers manuals for getting the manufacture date from the VIN, I don't have the link on me. but I'll look.
    For good resources on BMW airheads check www.airheads.org and www.imbwr.org they have more tech articles and experienced wrenches than you'll ever need.

      I have a R75/6, and it's a 74, so yours would be older.
